Current Career Pathways
New Career Pathway For Audiologists
- New route-BSc in Audiology
- 4 year course
- Years 1 & 2: university
- Year 3: placement
- Year 4: university
- Entry requirements: usually 3 A levels inc 1 science subject (or equivalent)
- Funding:
- UK and other EU students-fees paid by NHS
- Apply for means-tested bursary
- Training salary during placement year
- Still opportunities for those without audiology degree-postgraduate training programmes
Audiological Scientist Current Training
- Honours degree in a scientific subject
- MSc in Audiology at Manchester University, Southampton University, or University College-London
- 1 year FT or 2 years PT
- In house training-CAC (18 months)

Audiological Scientist Career Structure
- Entry at Grade A
- Usually 2 year funded training
- After full training-Grade B (main career grade)
- Progression-Grade C (Consultant Scientist)
